When adding a large tree to Perforce in Windows, I would avoid the drag and
drop.
Instead, do something like this in a command prompt window:

 cd <my-top-level-directory-under-client-root>
 dir /s/b/a-d | p4 -x - add

This works on Windows NT and 2000; I'm not sure about Win9x clients.
It's essentially the equivalent of 'find . -type f -print' on Unix
systems.

This of course assumes P4PORT, P4CLIENT, etc. are all set appropriately.
